Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Mrs. Bernice Hanson, 402 E. Monroe St., Attica, died early Thursday morning (Dec. 11, 1969) at Americana Nursing Home in Lafayette, where she had been a patient since Oct. 9. She had been ill since early September. Mrs. Hanson was born Dec. 3, 1895, in Newtown, the daughter of William and Lottie Todd Schermerhorn. She was married in 1917 to Robert E. Hanson, who preceded her in death in 1958. A fine musician, Mrs. Hanson attended the Northwestern University School of Music and at one time served as organist at First Methodist Church. She was a member of the Attica Musicale and also a member of First Methodist Church, Attica. Surviving are two, daughters, Mrs. Edward Trueblood, Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Leigh Fisher, San Mateo, Calif. Six grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral services were Saturday from the Roemer Chapel with Rev. Harold Bachert officiating. Interment followed at the family lot in Riverside Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
